Did you know that a single real estate transaction can involve 20 to 30 or more individuals or businesses? From lenders and inspectors to appraisers, underwriters, title reps, and transaction coordinators—each one has unique timelines, processes, and paperwork requirements. And somehow, it all comes together (hopefully) in a beautiful moment when the buyer gets the keys or the seller gets their check.
For most people, that’s all they see—the final flourish. But behind that curtain is a REALTOR®, juggling like a magician: coordinating chaos, solving problems on the fly, and making sure the show goes on. It’s not just experience that makes the magic happen. It’s repetition, failure, learning, repetition again. It’s hours, days, and years perfecting the craft so that what looks simple… actually isn’t.
And this isn’t unique to REALTORS®. If you look closely, every business owner, every leader, every craftsman, every corporate professional—they all work behind the scenes in ways most never witness. You see the finished product, not the early mornings, the last-minute pivots, or the quiet victories that come before the big one.
I was reminded of this today when I celebrated a meaningful closing with a well-earned plate of brisket from FireCraft BBQ. That brisket didn’t just appear. Someone poured their heart into prepping, smoking, slicing—perfecting the experience. And all I had to do was show up, order, and enjoy. Just like a client shows up to closing.
So here’s my challenge for you this week—say thank you. To the people whose work goes unnoticed. To the friend in the office down the hall. To the vendor who never misses a beat. To the cashier who smiles even when it’s been a long day.
We’re all part of someone’s village—even if our work is meant to be unseen.
